🌊Waves Rise 2023🌊
In honor of International Women's Day 2023, we’ve brewed up a special beer, Waves Rise - Tiny Hazy Ale!
This beer was brewed during our annual charity brew and uses the Yakima Chief Pink Boots hops blend. The purchase of this hop blend directly supports the Pink Boots Society, an organization created to assist, inspire, and encourage women and non-binary individuals in the brewing industry.
The name ‘Waves Rise’ comes from the Hymn to Ninkasi, who is the goddess of beer and brewing. The hymn “dates back to the 18th century B.C. As legend has it, the hymn links two Sumerian drinking songs that describe the process of making beer and praise Ninkasi for bringing a “blissful mood” and “happy liver” to the Sumerian people.”
“Ninkasi, you are the one who soaks the malt in a jar,
The waves rise, the waves fall.”
At 3% ABV, this brew is light, refreshing, and mildly citrusy, with a floral, tropical and stone fruit aroma. With a light malt base and moderate bitterness, the hops really shine bright. The amazing artwork for this label was created by our talented staff member, Lauren Musycsyn!🎨
Available in cans starting today, Wednesday, March 8th, at the brewery and online for home delivery in the CBRM & HRM, or shipping province-wide. $1 from every can that is sold will be donated to local women’s charity, the Every Women’s Centre, a nonprofit organization that aims to promote, develop and support the enhancement of women's lives in Cape Breton communities.
